OCTOBER 2007
Volume 2, Issue 4
KING'S COUNTRY PROPERTY OWNERS ASSOCIATION
The King’s Country Yard
Sale voted to redo and update the Clubhouse kitchen. Mary Stacy chaired the committee meeting outlining
the changes and reviewed the bids. Mary
and Elizabeth Drennen did all of the
research on the new items plus receiving the bids from contractors. The kitchen will have a new refrigerator,
dishwasher, new large double ovens and microwave. Under the bar will be redone to match the existing
cabinets. There will be additional
shelving and cabinets in the small room adjoining the kitchen. A new floor will be installed that will be
easier to keep clean. All of this money
to do the renovations comes from income from our annual yard sale. This money is always used for the
beautification of the King’s Country facilities. THANK
YOU YARD SALE COMMITTEE!!!
TRASH
PICKUP
King’s Country has entered
into an exclusive agreement with Tabor Sanitation for trash services whereby
Tabor Sanitation will be the only trash service operating in King’s
Country. Tabor Sanitation has cut us a
good deal with a rate of $16.78 per month.
Tabor Sanitation has also agreed to provide complimentary containers
that can be used throughout our community as we see the need.
The purpose of this
agreement is to help protect King’s Country assets. The majority of the money spent in King’s
Country is for road repairs. Waste
Management runs 13 yard trucks with a loaded weight of approximately 30,000
pounds. Tabor Sanitation has 10 yard
trucks with a loaded weight of 22,000 pounds.
It does not make sense to have two different companies following the
same path, damaging our roads. Please contact Tabor Sanitation at 903-572-2100
and make arrangements to have your service changed. We expect all residents will be converted by
the first of the year. Thank you for
your cooperation as we make logical decisions for our community.

COME TO THE BOARD
MEETINGS AND HAVE YOR SAY!!
All meetings of the
association board are open meetings.
Property owners are encouraged to observe meetings and read approved
minutes and financials posted in the Clubhouse.
Those who wish to address the board are welcome to do so during the
Guest Speakers time. Here are a few tips
for participating:
·
Put it in
writing: You will get the best response if you put your
question or opinions in writing prior to the meeting. This helps you and the board. The Board can serve you better if members
have time to consider your concern.
·
Plan your
remarks to last no longer than three minutes: Board members enjoy visiting ; however the meeting
agenda is always very full, and the 3 minute limit ensures that all business
gets conducted. This does not mean big
issues can’t be presented. If your concern requires more time, please summarize
it and the board will add it to the agenda for the next meeting.
·
Don’t expect
an immediate response: Board members
do not act independently. All issues require discussion and sometimes a
vote. An immediate answer is possible,
but its just as likely that you won’t get a response
until after the meeting.
·
If you need
information, call the Property Manager: The
purpose of the Guest Speaker time is for property owners to share opinions and
concerns with the board. Property owners seeking general information (like a
status report on a project or the board’s position on an issue) can get a more
immediate response from the Property Manager.

GOT YOUR STICKERS YET?
In late September, the King’s
Country office mailed out two (2) numbered stickers to all property
owners. Security Committee Chair Vince
Smith asks that all persons who received the stickers
place them on the upper left side of the windshield of your vehicle. He reported that there seems to more traffic
at our facilities by people who are not property owners and this is one way to
identify who owns property and who does not own property. Our boat ramp, in particular, has seen an
upswing in use since the Cypress Springs Marina closed and there is no other
boat ramp open in our area. After Nov. 1st, all vehicles without a sticker or
guest pass will be towed at the owners expense. Please help us keep our facilities for the
use of King’s Country Property Owners and your guests. Special visitors
hangers will be available soon for your guests.
Call the office if you need additional vehicle stickers.
